Introduction
September is one of the better months to be in Bali, and one of the more under-booked. It sits just after the July and August peak, which means the weather is still good and the crowds have thinned.
Here's what to expect from the weather, where to base yourself, what to do, what it costs and what to pack.

BOOK →Yes — September is one of the best months to visit. It falls at the tail end of Bali's dry season, so conditions are typically warm and sunny with relatively little rain, and it comes immediately after the July–August peak, meaning fewer crowds, easier restaurant bookings and better villa availability than the two months before it. For beaches, outdoor activities, sightseeing and villa stays, it's close to ideal.
The bigger question isn't whether to come. It's where to base yourself, because that decides the shape of the whole trip.
What is the weather like in Bali in September?
Warm, tropical and well suited to being outdoors. Daytime highs sit around 30°C year-round in Bali, and September is no exception — the variable isn't temperature, it's rainfall and humidity. September is one of the drier months, sitting near the end of the dry season, with humidity beginning to build towards the end of the month as the wetter season approaches.
Altitude matters more than the calendar. Ubud and the highlands are noticeably cooler and greener than the coast, particularly in the mornings, while Uluwatu and the southern peninsula are hotter, drier and windier. If you're sensitive to heat, the inland areas are the more comfortable base.
